Anisactinella was named by Bittner (1890) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis Tr Carn Sepkoski's reference number: 538]. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Spirigera (Anisactinella) by Bittner (1912).

It was assigned to Spirigera by Bittner (1912); to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Diplospirellinae by Williams et al. (2002).
