Adelomyarion vireti was named by Hugueney (1969) [Paratypes: dents isolées supérieures et inférieures no. 96689 à 96695 et 96698 à 96704.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is FSL no. 96688, a maxilla (fragm. maxilla dex. with M1). It is the type species of Adelomyarion.

M. Hugueney 1969la même que celle du genre.
Ce genre, actuellement monospécifique, possède un maxillaire dont le trous palatins antérieurs se terminent un peu en avant de l'alvéole antérieur de M1. Les premières molaires supérieure et inférieure possèdent un prélobe réduit et celui de M1 est repoussé sur le bord externe au même niveau que paracône et metacône. Les tubercules internes et externes ainsi que les crêtes qui les relient sont pratiquement a la même hauteur ce qui donne à la couronne une allure un peu hypsodonte et à la surface d'usure une planéité presque parfaite. M1 se distingue des autres genres de Cricetodontinés par son protolophe inséré nettement à l'avant du protocône (ancienne liaison de S. Schhaub, 1925)).
