Taxonomy
Eophiuridae was named by Schöndorf (1910). It is not extant. It is the type family of Eophiuricae. It was considered monophyletic by Dean Shackleton (2005).
It was synonymized subjectively with Eoluidiidae by Schuchert (1915).
It was assigned to Eophiuricae by Spencer (1951), Owen (1965); to Parophiurina by Spencer and Wright (1966), Jell and Theron (1999); to Ophiuroidea by Schöndorf (1910), Dean Shackleton (2005); and to Proturina by Blake (2013).
It was synonymized subjectively with Eoluidiidae by Schuchert (1915).
