Taeniaster ibericus
Taxonomy
Taeniaster ibericus was named by Hammann and Schmincke (1986). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Museum of the Institute of Geology and Mineralogy, Madrid, Holotype S 587/2, par. Its type locality is Locality Al V, Fontanosas, which is in a Dobrotivian offshore mudstone in the Pizarras Guindo Formation of Spain.

Boot-shaped ventral part of ambulacral with slender articulating nose; ratio length/width growing in distal direction from 0.8 to 3.6. Subcircular depression at ankle of boot not present. Shaft of boot without radial depression. Three vertical spines, slender, grooved. Six tighty arranged groove spines not expanded distally. |
