Taxonomy
Nucula ovula was named by Lea (1833) [m. kosnik taxon no: 6762; DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Nucula (Nucula) ovula by Palmer and Brann (1965).
