Dimeropyge speyeri was named by Chatterton (1994) [Dimeropyge cf. clintonensis SHAW, 1968. LUDVIGSEN,1975, PI. 3, figs. 11-12; Dimeropyge clintonensis SHAW, 1968. CHATTERTON AND LUDVIGSEN 1976, p. 47-51, PI. 18, figs. 1-35, PI. 22, figs. 6-1 1 CHATTERTON 1980, p. 32-33, PI. 8, figs. 1-29; SPEYER & CHATTERTON,1989, fig. 3A-C. ]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is UA 89 15, a pygidium (thorax & pygidium).
