Aspidosoma grayae was named by Spencer (1914). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype BMNH E52455a,b.
It was recombined as Encrinaster grayae by Schuchert (1915), Spencer (1930), Owen (1965), Spencer and Wright (1966) and Dean Shackleton (2005).
