Taxonomy
Hyaenodon indicum was named by Lydekker (1884). Its type specimen is GSI D57, a tooth (left P/3), and it is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Sivachoerus indicus by van der Made (1999); it was recombined as Conohyus indicus by Pickford and Gupta (2001).
