Pachydyptes ponderosus
Taxonomy
Pachydyptes ponderosus was named by Oliver (1930). Its type specimen is DM 1450, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Oamaru, which is in a Runangan coastal horizon in New Zealand.
