Rupelramphastoides knopfi
Taxonomy
Rupelramphastoides knopfi was named by Mayr (2005). Its type specimen is SMF Av 500a+b, a partial skeleton (disarticulated skeleton lacking skull, furcula, sternum, right foot, and tail vertebrae), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Frauenweiler, which is in a Rupelian estuary/bay claystone in Germany. It is the type species of Rupelramphastoides.
