Charonia guichemerri was named by Lozouet (1998) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; France.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Meilhan, which is in an Aquitanian open shallow subtidal sandstone in the Falun de Sainte-Avit Formation of France.
