Taxonomy

Cancellaria montserratensis was named by Maury (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Trinidad and Tobago.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cancellaria (Euclia) montserratensis by Woodring (1970), Landau et al. (2007); it was recombined as Euclia montserratensis by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).

Synonyms

Cancellaria springvaleensis was named by Mansfield (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Trinidad and Tobago.]. Its type specimen is USNM 352662, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Cancellaria (Euclia) montserratensis by Landau et al. (2007); it was synonymized subjectively with Euclia montserratensis by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
Cancellaria (Cancellaria) couvana was named by Vokes (1938). Its type specimen is Amer. Mus. No. 24667, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Springvale (AMNH collection), which is in a Miocene coastal sandstone in Trinidad and Tobago.

It was synonymized subjectively with Cancellaria (Euclia) montserratensis by Landau et al. (2007); it was synonymized subjectively with Euclia montserratensis by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
