Chicoreus (Chicoreus) corrigendum was named by Vokes (1989) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Venezuela, Dominican Republic.]. Its type specimen is NMB H 17003, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is NMB Loc. 17284 - Rio Yaque del Norte [Baitoa Fm], which is in a Burdigalian perireef or subreef limestone/siltstone in the Baitoa Formation of the Dominican Republic.
