Neaera granulata was named by Dall (1881) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene-Recent; Caribbean.]. It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 63193, a shell.
It was recombined as Cuspidaria (Plectodon) granulata by Gardner (1926); it was recombined as Plectodon granulatus by Jung (1996).
