Palaeoscaptor gigas

Taxonomy
Amphechinus gigas was named by Lopatin (2002). Its type specimen is PIN, no. 4567/14, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Eastern slope of the Khunuk Valley, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Hsanda Gol Formation of Mongolia.

It was recombined as Palaeoscaptor gigas by Ziegler et al. (2007).
