Nodoprosopon heydeni
Taxonomy
Prosopon heydeni was named by Von Meyer (1860) [Wehner (1988) designated the neotype. Schweitzer et al. (2007) placed it within Planoprosopon. It was originally named as Prosopon heydeni.]. Its type specimen is Museum Tubingen, Quenstedt, Jura, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Nodoprosopon heydeni by Collins (1985); it was recombined as Planoprosopon heydeni by Schweitzer et al. (2009), Schweitzer and Feldmann (2009), Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Schweitzer et al. (2012).
