Taxonomy
Bellerophon (Bellerophon) planodorsatum was named by Hoare (1961). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 31. Waste banks of Carroll mine on the west side of Tebo Creek, ΒΌ mile northeast of Lewis, which is in a Desmoinesian marine shale/coal in the Cabaniss Formation of Missouri.
It was corrected as Bellerophon (Bellerophon) planodorsatus by Kues (1984).
