Taxonomy
Shandongornipes muxiai was named by Li et al. (2005). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is LRH-DH01, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Houzuoshan Dinosaur Park, which is in a Barremian/Albian lacustrine sandstone/siltstone in the Tianjialou Formation of China.
