Taxonomy
Stacheia was named by Brady (1876). It is not extant. Its type is Stacheia marginuloides.

It was assigned to Polyphragminae by Cushman (1927); to Corallinales by Blazer (1975); and to Aoujgaliaceae by Kiessling (2004).
