Taxonomy
Anomphalus discus was named by Girty (1910) [Anomphalus? discus]. Its type specimen is USNM 161312, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Trepospira (Angyomphalus) discus by Yochelson (1969).
