Ranella bitubercularis was named by Lamarck (1816) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene-Recent; Indo-Pacific.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Argobuccinum (Ranella) bitubercularis by Eames (1950); it was recombined as Gyrineum bituberculare by Harzhauser et al. (2009).

Synonyms
  • Ranella karikalensis was named by Cossmann (1903) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Recent; Indian Ocean.]. It is extant.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Gyrineum bituberculare by Hendy (2007).
  • Ranella anjarensis was named by Martin (1884) [DUSTRIBUTION: Miocene; Indonesia, India.]. It is not a trace fossil.

    It was recombined as Argobuccinum anjarense by Dey (1961); it was synonymized subjectively with Gyrineum bituberculare by Beu (2005).
