Taxonomy
Buccinum spiratum was named by Linnaeus (1758) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene-Recent; Indo-Pacific.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Eburna spirata by Lamarck (1822), Vredenburg (1925); it was recombined as Babylonia spirata by Hendy (2007).
