Taxonomy
Buccinum eburnoides was named by Matheron (1842) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligcoene-Middle Miocene; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Eburna eburnoides by Bellardi (1882); it was recombined as Peridipsaccus eburnoides by Sacco (1904); it was recombined as Eburna (Peridipsaccus) eburnoides by Schaffer (1912); it was recombined as Latrunculus (Peridipsaccus) eburnoides by Cossmann and Peyrot (1928); it was recombined as Babylonia (Peridipsaccus) eburnoides by Steininger (1973), Harzhauser (2002).
