Stertomys daamsi

Taxonomy
Stertomys daamsi was named by Freudenthal and Martin-Suarez (2006). Its type specimen is RGM 455905, a maxilla (dext. with P4-M3), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Biancone 1, which is in a Miocene fissure fill horizon in Italy.

M. Freudenthal and E. Martin-Suarez 2006Small Stertomys with a moderately complex dental pattern. Centrolophid and mesolophid not connected labially. Centrolophid frequently connected to the middle of the metalophid. Precentroloph separated from the paracone, and frequently connected to the middle of the metaloph. Postcentroloph generally separated from the metacone. Protoloph and metaloph firmly connected posterolingually, and separated from the posteroloph.
