Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
G. Métais et al. 2003Large species of Palaeohypsodontus, with lower molars clearly hypsodont (the ratio of height to width of the moderately worn m1 is 2.1, almost twice as hypsodont as the type species P. asiaticus fromMongolia). Further differs from P. asiaticus in having a tinymetastylid forming a narrowvertical rib on the lingual wall of the lower molar, no ectostylid, a well−developed entostylid, and a salient mesial cingulum.
