Pesquero et al. 2006Robust Hipparion species, having a significantly greater body mass than H. primigenium; well-developed DPOF; large upper and lower cheek teeth, with characteristic enamel ‘‘wrinkled’’ plications that decrease with wear. Robust metapodials that become more slender in comparison with other Vallesian populations.
