Taxonomy
Protalactaga sefriouii was named by Benammi (1997). Its type specimen is SGM, RH 64, a tooth (m1 inf. dext.), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Jebel Rhassoul, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in Morocco.
