Megacricetodon debruijni was named by Freudenthal (1968). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Pedregueras II C, which is in the Vallesian of horizon Spain.

Garcia Moreno 1986 (Megacricetodon freudenthali) | Small sized Megacricetodon. The anteroconid is simple. The m1 and m2 almost always have a mesolophid, which often is long. The anterocone is simple or bilobulated, and the anterior furrow is very slight or absent. The M1 and M2 almost always have a mesoloph. The external valley in the M2 is generally directed forwards. In the M1 and m1 the posteroloph(id) is always long, as well as in the M2. |
