M. Freudenthal 1968Megacricetodon species of small size, with subdivided anteroconid in m1. Mesolophids are on the average short or absent; mesolophs are short or medium in M1, medium or long in M2. The internal valley of M2 is sharply curved forward.
Garcia Moreno 1986 (Megacricetodon freudenthali)Small sized Megacricetodon. The anteroconid is simple. The m1 and m2 almost always have a mesolophid, which often is long. The anterocone is simple or bilobulated, and the anterior furrow is very slight or absent. The M1 and M2 almost always have a mesoloph. The external valley in the M2 is generally directed forwards. In the M1 and m1 the posteroloph(id) is always long, as well as in the M2.
