Taxonomy
Tomopleura was named by Casey (1904) [Sepkoski's age data: T Dani T Mi-m Sepkoski's reference number: 530,899]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Borsoniinae by Beu et al. (1990); to Drilliinae by Wilson (1994); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
