Byzantinia pikermiensis

Taxonomy
Byzantinia pikermiensis was named by de Bruijn (1976). Its type specimen is IVAU PI 118, a tooth (M3 sup. sin.), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Chomateri, which is in a Miocene fluvial siltstone/claystone in the Pikermi Formation of Greece. It is the type species of Byzantinia.
