Taxonomy
Occitanomys neutrum was named by de Bruijn (1976) [Genus designation with a questionmark]. Its type specimen is IVAU PI 262, a tooth (M1 sup. dext.), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Chomateri, which is in a Miocene fluvial siltstone/claystone in the Pikermi Formation of Greece.
