Taxonomy
Sillosuchus was named by Alcober and Parrish (1997). Its type is Sillosuchus longicervix. It was considered monophyletic by Nesbitt (2011).
It was assigned to Poposauroidea by Weinbaum and Hungerbühler (2007); to Poposauridae by Alcober and Parrish (1997) and Fiorelli and Calvo (2008); and to Shuvosauridae by Nesbitt (2011).
