Taxonomy
Asiahesperornis was named by Nessov and Prizemlin (1991). Its type is Asiahesperornis bazhanovi. It is the type genus of Asiahesperornithinae.
It was assigned to Asiahesperornithinae by Nessov and Prizemlin (1991) and Kurochkin (2000); to Hesperornidae by Dyke et al. (2006); and to Hesperornithidae by Bell and Chiappe (2020).
