Bandellina was named by Schroder (1995) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1120]. It is not extant. Its type is Bandellina laevissima.

It was assigned to Heterostrophia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cornirostridae by Schulbert and Nützel (2013), Nützel and Kaim (2014).
