Amaea (Scalina) deroyae was named by DuShane (1970) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Mexico, Ecuador.]. It is extant. Its type specimen is LACM 1236, a shell.

It was recombined as Scalina deroyae by DeVries (2007).
