Halimornis thompsoni
Taxonomy
Halimornis thompsoni was named by Chiappe et al. (2002). Its type specimen is D2K 035, a partial skeleton (some vertebrae, pygostyle, partial scapula, humerus, and femur), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AGr-4, which is in a Campanian/Campanian deep subtidal shelf carbonate in the Mooreville Chalk Formation of Alabama.
