Taxonomy
Pleurotoma desmia was named by Cossmann (1889) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Clavatula desmia by Burton (1933); it was recombined as Trachelochetus desmia by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
