Scalaria (Scalaria) affinis was named by Deshayes (1861) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Scala affinis by Morellet and Morellet (1945); it was recombined as Amaea affinis by Piccoli and Savazzi (1983); it was recombined as Amaea (Acrilla) affinis by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
