Taxonomy
Pycnoidocyathus strictus was named by Gravestock (1984). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Mount Scott Range, lower section J, which is in an Atdabanian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Ajax Limestone Formation of Australia.
