Neochonetes (Sommeriella) pratti
Taxonomy
Chonetes prattii was named by Davidson (1859). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fossil Cliff, Irwin River (BMNH coll), which is in a Sakmarian marine siliciclastic in the Holmwood Formation of Australia.
It was corrected as Chonetes pratti by Newton (1892), Etheridge (1903), Etheridge (1907); it was recombined as Neochonetes (Sommeria) pratti by Archbold (1981); it was recombined as Neochonetes (Sommeriella) pratti by Archbold and Hogeboom (2000), Shi et al. (2001), Xu et al. (2024).
