Taxonomy
Anomites lineatus was named by Martin (1809).

It was recombined as Spirifer lineatus by Meek (1864); it was recombined as Reticularia lineata by Waagen (1883), Keidel (1906), Mansuy (1913), Tschernyschew and Stepanow (1916) and Campbell (1957).
