Taxonomy
Dictyoclostus callytharrensis was named by Prendergast (1943). Its type specimen is GSWA1/4967b and is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Dictyoclostus (Antiquatonia) callytharrensis by Coleman (1957); it was recombined as Callytharrella callytharrensis by Archbold (1985), Hogeboom and Archbold (1999).
