Taxonomy
Strophalosia complectens was named by Etheridge (1918). Its type specimen is AMF 16699a, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mount Marmion, Balmaningarra Station (AMF collection), which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the Noonkanbah Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Heteralosia complectens by Archbold (1986).
