Taxonomy
Aulosteges baracoodensis was named by Etheridge (1903). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Baracooda Pool, Arthur River, which is in a Sakmarian marine siliciclastic in Australia.

It was recombined as Taeniothaerus baracoodensis by Yang et al. (1990).
