Taxonomy
Babylonites acutus was named by Yochelson (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 119145 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM706, Hess Canyon, Glass Mountains, which is in a Roadian marine limestone in the Word Formation of Texas.
