Calliprotonia inexpectatum

Taxonomy
Echinoconchus inexpectatus was named by Cooper (1957). Its type specimen is USNM 125551, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UO 2201-1, Grindstone-Twelvemile Creek area, which is in a Kungurian marine limestone/sandstone in the Coyote Butte Formation of Oregon.

It was recombined as Bathymyonia inexpectans by Nassichuk and Spinosa (1972); it was recombined as Calliprotonia inexpectatum by Shi and Waterhouse (1996).
