Eubaculites latecarinatus
Taxonomy
Giralites latecarinatus was named by Brunnschweiler (1966) [DISTRIBUTION: Maastrichtian; Cosmopolitan.]. Its type specimen is CPC 2718, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Giralia Anticline (Brunnschweiler collection, Korojon Calcarenite), which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate limestone in the Korojon Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Giralites.
It was recombined as Eubaculites latecarinatus by Kinger and Kennedy (1980), Henderson et al. (1992), Klinger and Kennedy (1993), Kennedy et al. (1997), Klinger et al. (2001).
