Taxonomy

Paralimnocythere was named by Carbonnel (1965). Its type is Paralimnocythere bouleigensis.

It was assigned to Metacypridinae by Dias-Brito et al. (2001); and to Limnocytherinae by Carignano (2012), Carignano and Cusminsky (2015).
