Trisauropodiscus levis was named by Ellenberger (1970). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Thejane-Maphutseng tracksite (zone A/5), which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian terrestrial horizon in the Elliot Formation of Lesotho.

P. Ellenberger 1972Ce très petit bipède tridactyle présente une divarication des 3 doigts semblables à celle de T. phasianiforma, y compris en ce qui concerne le IVe doigt, mais il paraît dépourvu d'un coussinet à l'arrière-talon.
- PES: Longueur du pied, 25 mm (du doigt II, 13 mm; de III, 17-18 mm; de IV, 15 mm +; projection de III en avant du bout des doigts latéraux, 10 mm). Largeur du pied entre l'extrémité des doigts latéraux, 26 mm. Divarication totale II-IV, 90° (II-III, 40° ; III-IV, 50°). Les coussinets de phalanges sont un peu visibles (formule: ?-2-3-4-?). L'arrière du pied est peu marqué, une très petite sole réunit quelquefois l'origine des 3 doigts mais le talon fait défaut.
- MANUS: La main n'a pas touché le sol.
- PISTE: Enjambée, 0,20 m environ (Pas = 0,10 m environ? - ), Ped. Angulation, 3° ?. La démarche se fait donc d'une façon rectiligne.
